E.g :      Study (v) ↠studying (g)

put (v) ↠putting (g)

sit (v) ↠sitting (g)

learn (v) ↠learning (g)

Notes : 1. Gerund doesn’t change meaning

2. Gerund isn’t doing an action

E.g :      Studying is my hobby ↠ as a gerund

I’m not studying right now ↠ not gerund

Some positions of gerund in a sentence :

1.         Gerund as subject

-         Being a teacher is my dream

-         Reading Al-Quran makes me happy

2.      Gerund as object of verb

-         I like shopping in foreign country

-         She tries cooking meatball

3.      Gerund as predicate complement

-         They are wearing their uniform

-         We are using new bag

-         Her hobby is watching TV

4.      Gerund as object of preposition

-         I’m good at speaking English

-         After watching TV, I goes to the market

5.      Gerund as possesive adjective

-         My mother’s cooking is nice

-         The boy’s playing makes me impressed

6.      Gerund as public warning

-         No smoking

-         No parking

7.       Gerund as noun modifier

-         Waiting room

-         Parking area

-         Dining rom
